Hey guys.
We find ourselves in the market for a new boat.
We have come across a 2013 Bayliner 185.
We were in a 1999 Searay 185.
I like the price point of the Bayliner but wanted to check recommendations on the quality of Bayliner.
Thanks!

Bayliner has come a LONG way since the 80's and 90's The hull construction has improved still a very decent product. Now at the end of the season people tend to unload to bypass future storage. Do your homework ;)

In 2013 Bayliner and SeaRay under 25' are all built on the same assembly line in Mexico

Bayliner is still an entry level boat. SeaRay quality has dropped from your 1998 level

The Bayliner isn't terribly different from my boat.

Mine I inherited from my folks when they didn't want to run it any longer. So, the reason I have a Bayliner is it was free. BUT, that said - my Capri has been a good boat. It's efficient and runs quick enough for anything that I do. The ride is comfortable and the boat is laid out pretty well.

The fit and finish on it is definitely entry level. Little hardware stuff all over that requires some attention pretty regularly. But nothing terrible. My boat is garage kept, and I do all my own maintenance ... so, it's pretty well cared for; which keeps it nice.

If it is in really good shape, I wouldn't be afraid of a Bayliner after 2000. But I wouldn't expect it to be perfect by any stretch.
