I need some help figuring out why my rxp 260 wont go above 30mph. I’ve got this 2012 Rxp 260 that seems to run great but only goes 30mph and the highest the rpms get is a little over the 5 tick. It starts up, runs and idles great. Just to clear any questions about the key up. I have two keys, a yellow and green key. I have been using the yellow key. The green key limits the ski to 10mph and that is the training key so I’m assuming the yellow key is the regular key that allows the ski to run at its full potential. I just changed the oil a couple hours ago with a genuine seadoo kit. The oil level is halfway between the full and low mark. It’s got the right ngk plugs in it according to the plack on the ski and they look somewhat new and they are gapped right. I’ve also cleaned the fuel rail and injectors. The injectors are spraying nice and even and it has fresh gas in it. I’ve only started the ski up once or twice out of the water for a quick second and they’re seems to be a tad bit of rattling coming from the jet pump. The ski doesn’t vibrate or make any crazy noises out on water but I’m thinking possibly the wear ring may need to be replaced. Also I’ve heard these skis have a carbon seal, where is that located and am I able to check to see if it’s good. Unfortunately the cluster is sun baked pretty good and I can’t make out anything it’s saying. The only thing I was able to read off of it was the hours, the ski has 75hours. This thing seems to run great it just won’t go above 30mph. I’ve attached some lies of the ski and a picture or video if it will let me or what the cluster guage looks like when the throttle is pinned on the water. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Is the ski cable or digital throttle?
If cable have you checked to see if the throttle is going WOT?

Have you changed the plugs?
My 2007 started running slow and even started to miss a bit. My thought is this is a 4 stroke, we don't need to change no stinking plugs. When old plugs where removed they look great, but changed them anyway, and yes it was the plugs.

I believe my ski has digital throttle. It seems to run great but just won’t go above 5,000 rpm’s and 30mph. Some people on other forums were saying throw new plugs in to see if that fixes the problem and the supercharger could also be causing my problem by not producing boost. Thank you for your reply. I will probably throw a new set of plugs in just to see what happens. My guess is the supercharger may need to be rebuilt. They said it needs to be rebuilt every 2 years or every 100 hours comes first. My ski has 75 hours on it but it’s a 2012 model so it’s well over two years old.

Digital throttle is another animal, would strongly suggest getting a scanner. I don't know which one is best in this area. Looks like OBDSTAR ISCAN sticks out the most. Have you posted on Green Hulk, that's where I go for my ski problems. More knowledge base over there

I have a seadoo but still old school with a 2007. Have a bunch of money in scan tools for Mercury/Mercruiser and there is no way I would do much without them

Do the supercharger rebuild by the hours , my neighbors friend has same ski asked him about it if he had rebuilt the supercharger he said no seemed fine … he is now replacing his engine ..,

Defiantly would look if you are missing spark on a cylinder and replace the plugs

Have found a cheap spark gap tester helpful to verify some low hanging fruit

There is definitely something else going on here. Even the learner key fob will allow the ski to go fairly fast and certainly more than 10mph for sure.
