2010 - My worst summer ever.

This has been the worst summer I can remember...

All the lakes and rivers in my area flooded and full of floating junk most of the season, not worth putting the boat in.

Sat and watched boat prices erode all summer. Sold a couple almost breaking even. Made money on a couple others, barely.

One of my largest customers filed bankruptcy, don't know if we will ever be paid.

Fought the state over who has the right to use my pond. Did a fish kill and restocked it to end the conflict. Put up more signs around the entire farm to stay out.

Contracted a horrible case of Shingles a month or so ago and been dealing with all that goes with it and can't work. Can't go out in the sunshine at all.




I'm keeping a close eye on my best dog......

bubba hang in there, eventually things will turn around, the motto i live by is "live for today, love for tomorrow, and laugh at yesterday. for you cant change the things that happened yeaterday and you have no control of what tomorrow will bring, but you can love the people around you today"

Time to buy more boats cheap and hunker down...hopefully prices rebound in a couple years.

Hey Bubba in these times and days, " Ya gotta take the reigns and make it happen." I don't know what this this means in your terms, but it is time to make things happen for the good......keep optimistic bro, the pessimistic view is not good....... We ALL change the past! Everytime we remember it we change it because of what has happened since or what we do or feel right now; that is why you'll be able to laugh at it later. As for the present; take care of your health and look at the glass as half full; that will change your future. As others have said, the only way left is up. Good luck comes from good effort.

It seems like the meds are almost as bad as the illness.

I know the feeling, Bubba. A year and a half of chemo and radiation about killed me. I feel great now and hope you will soon....Capt. Mike.
