2007 Mercruiser (4.3) Stern Drive

I have a need for U joints on a 2007 Mercruiser stern drive. I do not want to pay the OEM price! Ive seen mixed results on various parts that will work regarding automotive verses marine joints. What are your thoughts on the correct part? I don't want to go with a cheap part that will break on amazon. My serial number and inspection says that I need the one with external clips which is U-Joint 865496A02. The OEM part number for quicksilver. What would be a good aftermarket part to go with or an automotive equivalent?

Moog 344 or equivalent should work for external clip engine. Spicer makes a cross ref to it 5-3214X if you want a different brand.

I have used moog 315G on my gen one alpha no issues. I bought a set of the spicers a year ago when I did my bellows but they were in good shape so I left the original ones

You will see a lot of info about it but the reality is they made very few style of u joints ever so there is no such thing as a marine u joint.... the OEM price on them is BS. buy a good aftermarket replacement and you will be fine
