Just removed my props for the season and had a bunch of fishing line that damaged the white plastic part of the seal. No water in oil.
Is it possible to R&R this seal with the slide hammer technique like an outboard ?

What is it? Metal on metal ? What's the purpose of the white plastic ring on the seal ? Really don't want to pull the drive apart, especially when it's not leaking...yet
More than a bit. The plastic ring broke off nice and clean. Be nice to be able to stick another piece of plastic on there. Apparently no line cutter available for this drive.
I can see how the next time I pick up line it will be damaging to the sealing area
