Just picked up a new to me boat with twin 2005 Yamaha F115’s. I am trying to determine if I am able to install a nmea2000 network. I have read some people say that it won’t work if your engines are built before April 2005. But then I found a Yamaha bulletin that I believe specifies it will work? Just looking to get confirmation from anyone who has got an early 05 model working reliably.

I do have the white plug shown below and my ECU number is 68V-21. Any info is greatly appreciated!

The year of boat doesn't determine compatible... the build of ECM does that. Looks like you ECM has been update for Command Link.

Do you have Command link gauges?

That doesn't look like the usual NMEA 2000 connector

The -40 ECU is the one with Command Link capability.

The ivory connector shown is for connection to conventional Yamaha gauges.

The Command Link connector is bright white. Has a cap on it. Four pin connector with but two wires. One blue. One white.

If you find the bright white Command Link connector you might be able to get some Command Link data from the -21 ECU. But it won't have the capability that the -40 ECU offers.
