2005 Johnson 4-Stroke 140 EFI High Idle

A friend of mine has a 2005 Johnson 4-Stroke 140 EFI with 1100 hours on it, and it has been getting stuck at high idle. It just happened one day; no changes were made to the outboard or anything. We took the boat out all weekend and 95% of the time it remained stuck at high idle and it would randomly switch back down to low idle. We are thinking it is a sensor that is bad somewhere but we haven?t been able to find what sensor it might be by looking at the parts outline for the outboard, any ideas?
