Z250 is triggering the overheat alarm even though the telltale is pissing. Happened once while planed off and running. Then again while on the hose being flushed. Where to start investigating?

Also check the pressure control valve if the over heating is occurring at idle or low RPM's?

PCV is stuck in the closed position and I can not pull it out of place. I'm sure the plastic fins will break off if I pull on them. Suggestions on how to remove it?

if the PCV is stuck, there is a very good chance that the motor has a lot of mineral build up in the cooling passages.
pull the stat out and inspect the passage and test the stat while you have it out.
might need to use a chemical descaler to remove some of that. and hope that also allows you to get the PCV out then too.
