Hello All,

This is the same guy with the Fisher restore.

I was unable to resurrect my old USERID (Fleetwin) so I'm using this one.

Believe it or not, this project is still underway. Since I have now retired, I can hit it hard.

It is now painted, carpeted, and going back together. Progress pic's to follow soon.

4.3L, it's going to fly!

I want to change the rear deck somewhat. There are too many cubby holes. As it stands, I'd have to melt myself down and pour myself in to get decent access to the engine.:grumpy: I've got to change that.

My 2001 Crestliner was similar, but it had the entire "sundeck" or casting deck lift up, then 2 storage areas next to the engine that were exposed once the deck was raised.

I didn't like that and made a couple lockers that are integral to the lower dog house, tip that forward (it's hinged) and engine access is pretty clear. Upper doghouse lifts up and is supported with gas shocks, then a couple hatches to access the batteries. Swivel seats on top of the lockers, like jump seats. I'll have to see if I have some pics to give you ideas, google images is a good place to get ideas too.... My setup isn't ideal and I probably would design it a bit different if I had to do it again, but it's MUCH better than having the engine boxed in, like it was.

Only thing I don't like about my setup is, if I have to replace a battery , I have to empty the lockers to flip the lower doghouse forward, no room to remove the batteries with the lower portion in position. But, it only takes 5 minutes to do it, since everything it hinged.

[edit: Didn't see your original post was from 2 years ago, ignore if you're past reworking the stern section of the interior.]

Thanks. I'm actually working bow to stern so, stern mod's may be possible.

Scrapping it. Compression readings show two;(LOW) cylinders-not dead but low. I dont want to deal with that.

Oh well!

I'm still around and it's not done. Some health issues stalled the renovation.

I'm back in the saddle, ok, and signed in as Lightwin3.

I've got to get this thing out of the garage. I'll keep all posted.

For now, it is:

1. Hull painted with Interlux Brightside-white.
2. Floor/deck vinyl installed.
3. 90% of carpet replaced.
4. Wiring and and plumbing are next.
