2003 Chris Craft Launch Volvo Penta 5.7 GI Throttle Shift Replacement/Upgrade

I want to upgrade the shift throttle to a newer version as my starb. side keeps getting stuck:grumpy: Can I simply replace the mechanism with a newer better looking version as well as the cable? Thanks for your help.

Yes you can, and people often do. Check the current cable casing for a part number...it usually includes the cable length as the last 2 numbers.

Where can I find the current casing number as I don't see anything on the casing itself? Thanks for your detailed input.

It is printed in white at the ends of the cable. If you cannot find it, you can always just measure the length.
