OK, I made the big mistake....fuel turned to varnish and I am having a heck of a time getting my 50 HP 2 stroke running again.
I bought the manual and OEM kits for the carbs and VRO. Changed tank to new, flushed the fuel lines, checked spark for both cyls(good).
I can get the motor to run but only at high speed @ 1200 - 1500 RPM. The motor will not idle and the carbs seem to be spitting fuel. I took the upper carb apart again today rechecked float setting (3/4" from base of carb to top of float), re-cleaned and still no go.
I cjecked the synch and that seemed OK. Butterflies closing, etc - this however I am not too savvy with.
Vacation at Myrtle in two weeks and I hope to bring the boat. Also I hate bringing it in to a shop, but if I have to.....
