I can’t figure out how to give it throttle without engaging the drive.
I have a soft button where the shifter/ throttles located. I can’t get it disengage from the drive. Help anyone! Boats out of quarantine today. I did get it started on idle but…

does appear the center button should push in then move handle forward, and that's not working?

Try grabbing handle and pull toward you in neutral

Nice boat, and thanks for the pics!

I think what alldodge is suggesting as a try, is that on some shifters, the entire shift handle pulls out when you push the "soft button". Sometimes, when encountering this type of shifters, pull from the the pivot where the "soft button" is

The VP drive is so nice to operate, maintenance can be a bit pricey, but is worth-it to me

It's has to be one or the other. Maybe wiggle handle slightly while trying
