I do not post on here but I have benefited from lots of help from the search engines. Here are some pictures of by recent rebuild of a tired and abused 18 ft 2001 lakesport with an 90 hp Honda. I picked this up for a good price. Cleaned the carbs and motor ran great. I just have 1 problem when under power the trim will not work seems to be bypassing. Will trim up and down fine when not under power.

Beautiful work! Looks better than a new one. I edited your post to add some proper pic links.

Very nice.

Is that Vinyl decking you replaced the crapet with?

Have you seen what I'm doing to my '97 lakesport T170? I have appreciated replacing all the plywood on my craft with aluminum. I probably took 150 pounds off the boat.

Re: 2001 lakesport restoration

hi....welcome to iboats.

as far as the trim......im not so frimillar with the out boards as the inboards, however......this sounds like a grounding issue. check all the ground wires.....that means take them off and clean them....and re tighten......crimp and shrink new ends if necessary.

also if you post in the electrical or honda forum......some of our out board gurus will have gone thru this before.

cheers
