My motor on occasion develops a slight miss (sounds like the boat is running out of gas, although the tank-60 gallons-is 3/4 full. I emptied the tank completely last fall to ensure there is no water in the tank. Should I dump some dry gas in the tank? The local marina has instructed me not to, stating dry gas is not good for a 2-stroke motor. Suggestions?

Remove the fuel connector at the engine. With the sqeeze bulb, pump gas into a clear container. If there is any water, it will collect at the bottom, and be easy to see.
