2001 25hp Big foot

Hello all, I was changinging oil and had a stubborn oil filter.I put channel locks on it and I didn't have battery disconnected.The channel locks hit the 12volt side hot cable lug (hot cable from battery) it arced..So all said done it would not do anything from the key BUT key on and pull rope it,it starts..so I bought a new solenoid thinking it was it but it didn't help..(I've checked the fuse by the flywheel it was good and I changed it plus metered it it was good..Are there another fuse or what else can I check...hopefully electronics good only because I'm thinking it runs by pull start but I may be wrong..Thanks if this is the wrong place to post let me know where to move it

hit the hot side of the starter solenoid when taking oil filter off..it arched and nothing from key now..

Clean the battery terminals and re-connect the wires (the motor doesn't need 12v to run just to start) the direct short could have caused a bad contact situation.

Hello...I cleaned my ground/lugs and my battery post..I did get clicking in the solenoid and the starter gear very faintly moved when it was clicking..the gear you had to really watch it but it barely bumped...I did put a jumping cable to the hot post of starter and it bumped...I am closer ...I ordered another new solenoid..the new one I put on the clicking swelled it up where a small wire attached like it got hot internally..

Well I metered all grounds but in switch and have ground...

When I jumper a wire from the hot side of solenoid to the small yellow/red wire solenoid does nothing...
