Can somebody confirm that this engine has a thermostat and only dribbles water when cool and pumps more when heats up? I am used to evinrudes where the stream is hard all the time
Salmonite, I have a 1999 Merc 25hp and it has a thermostat. The telltale on my engine is weak when first started and gets strong as the engine heats up then fluctuates as the engine runs. I expect yours is the same.
thank you ehenry, i just bought it and the guy told me that and I halfed believed him but ordered a new impellor anyway. Very interesting and scary that it doesnt pump a consistent stream
