Thanks knezzer, it's going to look pretty much like it did from factory, with the exception it will have vinyl floors, and new seats and a new color scheme, we got a good portion of the floors rear deck and front deck cut out today, hopefully get the rest done tomorrow then we can start with sealing it.

Good plan to cut all the wood, dry fit and move on to sealing it up. So is that 5/8" ply?

3/4 on the floor and rear deck, and 5/8 on bow deck have to attach the consoles on top of it and was concerned with the alignment of the windshields so stayed with factory 5/8

Got the rest of the plywood cut out, and the first coat of 1 part boiled linseed oil, 1 part spar varnish, 2 parts mineral spirits on all, and drying will put the second coat of straight spar varnish on tomorrow hopefully.

Ah yeah the good old timey formula. Only thing I don't agree with is that epoxy is best...

Yes I agree with you Rob, epoxy is definitely better, found some repairs on one of the boats we rebuilt and the wood was in excellent condition after quite a few years, I came across this formula here on I boats seems to work good for me, can't remember which thread it was.

I've been wondering about the Lund, this ones your keeper and your taking your time with it I'm thinking. The finish work is the best part for me, looking good John.

That's some light colored carpet, better make sure you keep your coffee spilling, worm tub digging fishing buddies in check. :lol:

Thanks Rob, yes it is pretty light but I wanted to match it to the beige on the bottom and gunnels, I guess we will just have to be care full with the coffee and I usually like to make sure I install extra cup holders.

Yeah I like the cabon fiber look vinyl wrap, it's a real nice way to update the look.

Yes Rob I'd really like to get it splashed this year, we bought another project, 1990 Sylvan 18 with a 2007 Merc 115 Optimax, going to put the Optimax on this Lund, had it out in Ontario and it ran great 47 MPH so should make this Lund fly, We got the side panels fabricated just dry fitted so far need to build the rod locker doors and install them.
