Trying to diagnose resent issue. (First clue) 3 trips ago, motor overheated after runing fine for several miles. (2nd Clue) 2 trips ago. No issues with overheating. After long idle, motor acted as if it had a fouled plug. Once able to get on plane, additional cylinder appeared to kick in and full power restored. Kept hearing intermitent alarm. Same as when in motor oil reservoir starts running low accept it was very intermittent, not at regular intervals. (3rd Clue) 1 trip ago, again, after long idle, motor acted like it had fouled plug. Put boat in neutral and reved it up until cylinder started to fire again. Once on plane, heard intermitent, random beeps. At mid cruising speed, motor all of a sudden quit for a second, then picked right back up. Later, motor just bogged down and would barely idle. Stopped motor, cranked it up again, reved a few times then it ran fine for rest of day. I'm suspecting oil pump may be starting to fail or high speed stator. Not sure how to diagnose. I emptied water separating filter attached to engine and it just had a few drops of water. Water alarm never activated that I know of. Any advise will be appreciated.
