I currently own a 20 hp mercury Tiller engine i believe its from the mid-nineties. I am looking at a used aluminum boat for the engine. One boat I have found that is in good shape, but it has a console to be used to control the boat. It already has a system set up for the steering controls but does not have any controls for throttle. My question is can my engine be converted to remove the tiller and control it from the console for both steering and throttle also is this an expensive to do. Any help on this concept would be excellent!!

1st: Does it have electric start? If it does you will need to buy a kit to convert it. Check with a mercury dealer or you may find it on line. You will also need control cables with a mercury control box.

No on the electric start. Any idea on how much a Mercury control box would run me? Thanx for the reply
