I have 2 gallons of mercury quicksilver 2 cycle oil. Would I be able to use this oil in 2 cycle engines other than an outboard - like my weedwacker-trimmer?? tyhanks
do a search....I believe the answer is NO as TCW (Two Cycle Water) is for water cooled engines......I may be wrong, but I recall a big debate a while back.
As KK said, air cooled 2 strokes require a higher temp oil than water cooled (outboard).<br /><br />Use Weed Eater (Poulan), or any other oil designed for chainsaws, etc.<br /><br />Moving to Non-Boating Tech.<br /><br />Good luck.
