I've been away on vacation,so this is a little late. I bought a boat last summer. Nothing special, just a 15' tiller with a 25 Evinrude. Got it out once all last summer for about an hour, due to work schedule. So,finally, this year,The Monday B4 July 4th weekend, We were looking for something to do. We decided to take the boat out. My wife was a little hesitant because we never had a boat, and my daughter is 5(We did get her swimming lessons over the winter). LOng story short, WE HAD A BLAST!!! Went to Blue Marsh Lake here in Pa. Boat drives great, and We loved beaching the boat and swimming. Had so much fun we cancelled our plans for the next day went back.I wish I would have bought a boat years ago.

LOL I guarantee thoughts of a newer bigger better boat are already running through your mind. Sounds like you had a great time.

When those thoughts of newer, bigger boats catch hold of you, one thing must be remembered. Always keep the size small enough that it is no problem launching it, or beaching it where you like to beach it.

I downsized from a 19' to a 17' because I often go by myself, and the 19' became a hassle to launch/load on a trailer, and the 17' is a piece of cake.
