Actually it was only $50. Mechanic looked at the rot and stopped where he was. Called me up and said not to bother going any further. Also mentioned a FourWinns with a chevy 350 he had for sale for $5500. Don't think he was trying to sell it to me but was giving me an idea of value for my money. All the same I may go take a look, I hear Four Winns are pretty good boats.

Well one could say he was trying to sell his boat, but even so, if he wasn't a somewhat straight up guy, he would've charged you the full amount to tell you what he did for $50.

And, I personally have never owned a Four Winns but I've seen a few and on these forums they seemed to be a very well regarded boat. (but so was the SeaRay) Big thing is what you've already learned. If the boat was looked after, its a great boat.
