Recently got this boat and trailer from a co-worker for free. Was told that only work needed was to remove and replace stringers/floor/motor. Pulled the boat home and upon closer inspection (even though im not boat savy) figured that more time, materials, and money were needed to fix than anticipated. Stringers and foam will need replacing. After researching iboats found that transom will more than likely need replacing. Now i think the starter, throttle, wiring, guages, and the list goes on might all be shot. And after checking out the trailer, i'm concerned about it, rust, etc. Here are my questions:

1. I want a boat, but do i want this boat as needy as i now think it is?

2. Assuming that this boat is basically a total rebuild/redo/restore/repair whatever, and i do everything by the book so to speak, about how much time/money will i spend on this project? Consider my lack of exp. with boats when estimating total repair time.

3. No matter what i decide to do with the boat, i want to clean it up. is it ok to stand on old stringers to clean inside hull? i weigh 150 with my clothes on and soaking wet. Could i actually stand on the fiberglass hull itself given my weight?

4. This is a biggie (i think). No title on the boat. The guy i got the boat/trailer from got it from a guy who still has the title(hopefully!?! havent called yet). If the "title guy" doesn't have the title for whatever reason, can i get one anyways? and if decided that i wanted to repair, should i wait on a title to do so?

Probably forgeting some questions. but ill ask as i get to them. Searched and read through some posts and was happy to see that there are plenty of similar boats with similar damage and doesn't seem to discourage the repairs. Posted pictures below. Will post more for documentation if i decide to rip into it further. thanks for any and all help and suggestions.

There have been ton's of title stories here on iboats and one guy I know restored a boat and it had to go back...... get the title straight.
