First time here, hope someone can help.
I took my boat out yesterday and when we got back to the house to put it up, there was no "up" in the trim. I tried it from the throttle and from the switch on the engine, both with no luck. The "down" works fine from both locations. I read on a few other topics about checking connections, and there be something there as the there was no power to the stereo either the whole day. The thing is, the engine ran fine, so the stereo may be another problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1999 Mariner 200 trim problem

hi g8rtj. Welcome to iboats.

I'd guess one of your power trim relays is shot. On the back of the block, there are two black cubes, about 1.5", with a group of wires to each relay. They should be mounted right next to each other. Unplug the wire harness from both, and switch where they were connected from. If your "up" works, and your "down" doesn't, you have found the problem. If you listen closely, you can hear or feel which relay is clicking when you run the trim.

If that's the problem, it's an easy fix and about 15 bucks for parts.
