I recently purchased a 1999 Donzi z23 that belonged to Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan) I am having a problem with engine cutting out and backfiring when I throttle down and when I ease it up to 2000 rpm. I have dumped the fuel, changed the water filter, New Dist, rotor, coil,plugs and wires. All were in need to replace condition. When it starts cutting out I can spray starter fluid gently into the throttle body and it takes off. I hooked up an auxillary tank and same thing. Therefore if its fuel, I am thinking pump and or pressure regulator. The back firing is the kicker, I would think that would be an ignition timing issue. Engine serial number is 0L356438. I read this forum alot and see some pretty knowledgeable responses therefore I am posting this thread. Any ideas?
