i have a 1998 25hp. johnson electric start, tiller. starts easy..idle a few seconds...kicks,puff of smoke, then dies. once in start at idle (before it kicks)shift into gear..go to higher higher rpm..runs fine...back to the load trailer..at idle warmed up...kicks then dies..takes a couple attempts to load..kick and die. i performed a decarbon as instructed on can of johnson power tune..checked diaphram in fuel pump (ok) cleaned an inspected tank..all lines of fuel..compressed air fuel pump screen (ok)..checked coils ohm (ok)..spark plugs in very good shape (ok)did not replace. ohm on plug wires (ok)..new gas (ok)..removed carb disassembled cleaned and soaked overnite. now my question is the stator low voltage output. has anybody had a similar problem with this (kick die at low rpm?)
