1998 Chris Craft 240 BR - Bad Transom?

Looking at a 1998 Chris Craft 240 BR powered by a 7.4l. Seller sent me pictures of a U shaped crack extending from the bilge drain. Is this too low to be transom? What could have caused it?

He said: "The vertical black lines are mildew or something, not cracks. The U shaped line is a crack. There is no play in the outboard however."

Be careful before you spend any beer tokens on this boat.-----Any other pictures ?-----Did you mean outdrive instead of outboard?

Few other pictures. Looks to be very nice other than the obvious.

I copy pasted the seller's message to me, @racerone. I meant outdrive, but I don't think he did.

Transom. yes. Some of them are stains, the long one from the plug curving up is a crack in the gelcoat. also from the rotten transom. The others on the sides are cracks also.
