I have a 1997 17' Lund Pro Angler with a 60 hp Merc that has a totally rotted transom. The boat is in excellent condition except for the transom defect. Does anyone have information on what is required to replace a transom? If I am unable to determine what caused the transom to rot, is it likely to occur again? Any idea on what it might cost to have it repaired at a boat facility? I have read that Lund had problems in the late 90's with bad transoms. Has anybody received any assistance or financial compensation for a replacement from Lund? I am the second owner.

Thanks
Mike

If Lund doesn't cover it, it should be an easy DIY project, if you choose to do it just make sure to be careful when taking off the metal transom cap, replacing that would be the hardest part.
