1995 Evinrude 115 running problem

Bought a 115 Evinrude thie weekend, it is a little cold natured, but will idle up fine. When I get read to take off, the engine bogs down very bad, and finally jump put of the water and run about 50 mph. Any Thoughts??

Probably the easiest place to start is to replace the plugs...wires and plugs are common to fail under load.

The boat runs great after it finally comes around. Will spark plugs have that effect?

Sounds like you could be overpropped; what boat are you running and what pitch propeller.

I believe its 13 diameter x 17? Does this ring a bell?? I am still thinking that it has something to do with the fuel, or something like that? Its a little hard to start at first, and there is probably half of the throttle that there you get no response when you take off?
