1993 Polaris SL750 no spark

I just got an old polaris 1993 sl750 free with a trailer purchase. First thing we checked was compression and one of the pistons was dead with a big hole in it, i think it was #1. So i did replace the pison, honed the cylinder, assembled the whole thing. The worst part was an idiotic separator panel that did not allow the exhaust elbow to move forward and clear the exhaust manifold mounting bolts. But after a while of moving them and a lot of cursing it all fall in place. Next we tried to start the engine, but appears there is no spark also looks like there is no power to the trim motor as well. Could be a CDI unit or bad coils, also the later one on all 3 plugs is unlikely. Any idea where to start diagnostics and if there some main fuse that could have failed? The insides of the ebox are clean and no water appeared to be in.
And the CDI unit is definitely different from 94-95 models
