I have a 1993 johnson 60hp. I narrowed down to believe the problems I am having are caused by plugged up carbs. I ordered a new set of rebuild kits and am looking to get any heads up or pointers that may come up before I start the tear down, any input would be greatly appreciated!!

I am not familiar with your carbs exactly.

But, they are similar to some I've done , I'm sure.

The best tip , would be get a manual for your motor.

You'll want to do a lync and sync, after the carbs are done. At least I would .

Everything is in the manual.

Make sure you soak/ clean REAL WELL.

Making sure all orifices/ jets etc. are clear and clean.

Blow out with compressed air, then install your kits.

If your carbs have the welch type plugs.

A sharpened, old screwdriver , punch . Works great, just drive it through the plug, and pop it out.

Be carefull, not to drive it in too deep.

Good-Luck,

KYHunter :)
