First thing a factory manual is a MUST for that motor. Have you done a compression and spark test? Because that motor is known as a 2+2 , which means it idles on the top 2 cylinders and around 1800 the bottom 2 start working. You need to make sure all the carb linkages are in good condition and working correctly. They can also have stator issues which the factory manual can guide you through.
