Re: 1991 Century 5500 CLX
Hi everyone, glad to see these boats have a following as I have just found myself with one I am restoring. I purchased a 1986 4500 CLX 23 foot with the 454 Magnum and Alpha leg. It needs quite a bit of work. I stripped the interior and just ordered new vinyl and flooring and am in the process of replacing the rotten plywood underneath. This poor beauty was neglected badly in its short 208 hr life. Hull on outside has hardly a scratch other than the badly dulled up gelcoat which seems to be buffing out great. It sat with lots of water in boat which caused motor problems and hence the rough interior. The price I paid for boat was what the 98 Calkins trailer underneath was worth so I wasn't too worried about losing anything and I really liked the look of this boat. Can anyone show me where the through hull exhaust is supposed to exit as I think the ones on this boat are way too low causing my water issues. They are beside the leg on each side below the water line. I will try to post pics later of my boat and its progress. Would love to see pics of all your Century 4500s and 5500s as well.
