1990 yamaha 250 2 stroke seapro 2

Just purchased boat and there's some wiring issues. First is when I turn battery on key off the fuel pump runs constant..second is when I push key in for choke the engine goes up lol. Any help appreciated

Gee, it sounds like you need a service manual for that motor. Who knows what else is not to spec.

A service manual will have a wiring diagram for that motor, so you can get it right.

Is that motor supposed to have an electric fuel pump? Most motors of that vintage had carbs and mechanical fuel pumps.

It looks like it left the factory with 3 PRESSURE operated fuel pumps.----A fuel pump that runs when battery is turned on , would be considered a safety hazard by most folks.-----If those pumps are there I would repair them.-----If speed jumps up with choke then it sounds like carburetors need servicing.----You will be shocked by what this costs at a dealer.-----Best take time and learn to work on this motor.-----Do a compression test BEFORE you spend any $$$ on it.----Post the actual values here.

It's not the speed that jumps up when I push key in...the engine itself comes up

wiring will need to be visually checked ,
no way we can even guess what someone did to cross up the wiring
