Been so long since I posted almost forgot how to get pictures on here. Had to have to boat in the water first of July so ended up putting a few pieces back in. hopefully the blue stuff will be gone by next summer. Added a trolling motor so figured I'd post some of that

I put a 3 bank charger in & plan on adding a battery in the back for accessories only. started working on that & am rewiring half the boat. This has been an enjoyable project but MY GOD always something that you want to change or add. Any way---I'll try & get some better pics of the boat being mostly done.

very nice! i’m still working on coating my floor with epoxy. i only get an hour or two here and there to work on it, so it’s taking forever!
glad you found the wet foam!! that would have sucked if you had left it and then weighed the boat after!
what glue did you use on the carpet? i’m still tossing up contact cement, or the adhesive the carpet supplier recommends. it is going to be much easier with theirs, cause i’ll be able to move carpet after placing it for a while, unlike contact cement.

100_1980.JPG I'm not real good at covering what I did so I'll try a summery. I did not use contact cement & am happy with the stuff I did use. I tried to pull some back up after it was installed a month later 100_1982.JPG in order to split a piece to make a hatch for the batteries. It would not come lose at all. -- I ordered that from Boat Carpet .com. I bought rollers from Lowes & think those are important to use!! The spray I used came from O'Reilly Auto, I had some from the carpet place & ran out, I think the O' Reilly stuff was better. I built my dash out of a composite that came from Bedford technology in Minnesota--pricey but I wanted something that would not rot. A major find in my mind were the stainless steel hurricane bolts off of Amazon, big flat head, I did not want to go back to putting it all together with #8 screws. I didn't get a picture but I also added an angle inside above the fuel tank. 1.5 X 24" on both sides to help carry the cover & have a good place to screw it down. Sorry for the ramble--be better off setting in the garage drink'n a few going over what worked & what didn't.

i like the idea of composite console tops. i was thinking carpet rollers would be a good idea too. looks like your boat is build exactly like mine, so hopefully mine turns out just as nice!!

Made a proto transom out of a sheet of 1/2 inch last night. Tight fit & had to trim a bit. Markings on the plywood when I pulled it back out shows me where I need to work on divets, worse place was were the scuppers come through. Note to self, great to buy local but might be a good idea to check on lumber price at the local yard, they charged me $63.00 for a sheet of 1/2 CDX20230221_194100.jpg20230221_202831.jpg

Cut transom out of Coosa this weekend. I cut the Coosa a little large & used a flush bit on my router & the pattern to get to the proper shape. Got it glued & clamped & will shape the second piece with the router & flush bit before installation. Next problem will be to get holes drilled, good decription I saw on another thread was-- it appears some old guy on a stool with rollers drilled the original holes with a hand drill & no guide--All thing considered--that decribes me pretty well--- Some of them have pretty wild angles & no where near straight, But I have a plan!!20230226_151924.jpg20230226_152323.jpg20230226_164414.jpg

Transom is in!!!! All the bolts kinda had thier own angle so I strapped a 2X8 across the back & drilled from the inside, I had my wife help guide me through the last sheet. Worked amazing, even scared me, still waiting to see wants going to go wrong since that went so well.20230304_210552.jpg20230304_210639.jpg20230305_161515.jpg20230305_162705.jpg
