1990 Mercury 60hp constant beep/alarm..?

Key has to be on for alarm to sound if wiring is original, especially if using Quicksilver/Merc Commander 2000 or 3000 controls and not cobbled up by PO. That's where the alarm gets it's voltage.....purple wire or red/purple stripe on 2000 era give or take model engines.

Ok so the sensor is what is right next to the spark plug right.?
Since the wire is made onto it how does it come out.?
I just don't want to break it if it is still good.
remove the spark plug and I used needle nose pliers to get mine out. They are very high priced $75 up to $300. Mine tested ok but I'm having the same alarm on my 1989 60hp with oil injection disconnected. driving me crazy!
