1990 merc 115 I4 questions

I have just purchased a 1990 115 merc I4.
First my starter spins but does not engage.........any help?
Next I am wondering if there is a way to check the oil injection pump?
Is there a way to check the water pressure (impeller)other than watching the water come out of the tell tale?
Any help would be appreciated, just trying to get everything done before I get on the water.

You need a charged battery, with good clean, tight connections to make sure the starter spins fast enough. IF all that is good, the bendix could be defective

Yes, there is a procedure in the OEM manual for running the engine on mixed fuel while measureing the output of the pump in ML over a certain amount opf time.

Yes, you can install a pressure gauge.
