That pattern of screws looks pretty similar to what my SmartTabs use to secure the tab to the hull. I don't know if SmartTabs might be applying a bandaid to the problem, but if you can't find any cause for the boat to list underway, you might try them. They don't cost that much and they could help your problem. One nice thing is that you could set one side to a firmer setting which migh help with the boat's lean when you're underway. You'd have to experiment some to find the right settings, but I think it could help.

I have SmartTabs on my boat and they do help keep the bow down when taking off, and they help get on plane quicker. I imagine power tabs would give you even more control, but they are also a lot pricier.

What tab model do you have? I’ve looked into them a little, I feel that power tabs would definitely be a bad investment into a boat this old since it’s like around $2,000 to buy and have them installed.

Anyone know what motor I have? It’s a GM (6269318), firing order 18486572, engine serial number 0C864959 and transom serial number 0D312836.

I found that too but it can’t possibly be that motor, I was told it’s a 454 and that was one of the motor options. I found an old powerboat listing of my boat and it said it was the 454, 365hp motor. The engine and transom serial numbers were on the flame arrestor.

Flame arrestor may have been lifted from anther boat's engine, or lifted up, engine replaced, and flame arrestor reinstalled. Probably oughta look for block and head casting numbers.

Probably not the correct flame arrestor anyway. It is for a rare 7 cylinder skip3-fire SBC engine, with the cam that leaves #3 dormant and ignition fires #8 twice to keep it in balance.

I will let myself out.....:D

Well I’m really happy for you that you caught my typo, unless you really thought that my 8th cylinder fired twice..
