Atengnr, maybe I’m just in panic mode and first time trying to almost rebuild my motor. I never gotten this deep into an outboard that’s all. Being green in this area and having no reference point or model number I’m having a hard time. My apologies and for what it’s worth I’ve decided to pull the piston through the intake, recovered all bearings but now waiting on further instruction from these awesome pros on this site. Maybe there’s hope. As I said; not afraid to get hands dirty just need a tutorial from time to time as I’m a newbie to playing with pistons...lol
side note: I’ve not ruled out repower..

puffitu----You need to remove the entire powerhead.----Take the block apart in order to do a proper repair.----The block need to go for rebore on at least one cylinder.

Unfortunately, those gouges are too deep to not have it machined. The next course of action is to pull the head and bare the engine block so it can be machined. As suggested, you might want to consider getting an identical replacement power head instead and just used that as a parts powerhead.

The cast iron sleeve likely also has many small cracks that you can not see at this time.----So I think it is time to go motor shopping now.------My opinion here.------I think it is amazing that the operator of this motor did not realize something was going wrong.----And it is amazing that these engines will still run in that condition.

Racerone well aware the force isnt from omc. I meant to communicate that I am new to Force having come from owning OMCs over the past 30 years.0

I am with racer on this one. Find a nice 115 Evinrude/Johnson because the money to repair that could go to a better motor. Your 125 hp force makes about 107-110 at the prop.

Since you have it apart, take it to a machine shop and have them do an inspection.
If the recommend cutting the cyl. to .040 or bigger then consider a new motor.
IF there are cracks in the cyl. walls the shop should be able to find the problems.
Read #18 absolutely no problem finding parts, even for the older Chryslers.

Going to add that I dont think you should repower just to own a non force engine. Seems like a myth that parts arent available for force. If youve put alot of money in parts in this motor see if you can rebuild block yourself. These carbed 2 stroke motors are easy to work on.

Im not an expert but an active weekend mechanic and have owned only johnnys for years - 68 40 hp, 68 55hp rebuild 10 years ago, 1991 johnny 60 and this year bought a force 70 for fun. This force seems like a darn decent motor! Starts and idled better than the johnnys i own.

Atendgnr, I appreciate the input. I agree with you on the forces. I’ve acquired this 1990 Welcraft with 1990 lower and 1989 125hp powerhead about a year ago which was a mess. Low comp in one cylinder(I now know why) but took the challenge and after many weekends and evenings I got it to run decent and it never left me stranded. I always knew in back of my head that that low comp cylinder was going to be an issue...over the course of a year I leaned a ton from the pros on this forum, research, trial and error and just some simple polish engendering. I’m on that I should get a similar powerhead and stay with the fight with the force line.

Consider in your cost effective decision making that some places don't allow two cycle engines.

Where are the 2 strokers not allowed?
I've been to some impoundments that only let in electric motors.
Saw a jon boat with 3 trolling motors.

In the public waters of the state of Texas there are no bans on two-stoke outboards in either fresh or salt water. Period.
