Yes, the top one is
Not the bottom one that for the Merc. ignition system
Right I know but it does replace
300-F654029-1 and newer 4 wire 300-888797 that I have right now. So both should work on my 1990 Force 120hp.
I don't have the CDI one .
Anyways, I did find another broken wire from the CD module that goes tonumber one. It's the white and yellow wire, connector came right off. I removed the whole assembly and repaired it. This goes to the second number one connection right next to the mounting bolt. It's a ground wire.

Okey, that can be the thing that gives you the issue.
Check all those thin wires, pull gently at the wire and check if it is loose at the lug.
They can be loose under the shrink tube.

I could have sworn I already fixed it. I went one by one. Who knows why it was broken. I soldered all the wires then shrink-wrapped. Is tyere a test for the CD module? I did the voltage testing already.
Posted it above. I am waiting for the Stator and I will go ahead and install it and the new trigger anyways. Will put back the flywheel and take it from there.
I am close to finishing this I can smwll it,
Oh never mimd I am smelling the end of the fishing season here on SoCal hahaha.
But BFT is year round. And halibut.

Only test for the CD module is voltage output to the ignition coils with a DVA meter.
Other test as said before voltage output from the stator to the CD module and voltage output from the trigger to the CD module.
Check the grounding of the CD modules and ignition coils mounting bracket to the engine block.
Generally check all grounding for the ignition system.
Bad grounding can end up with all sorts of confusing issues.

In addition; I made a habit to install an additional ground-wire from the bracket to the Neg. battery cable-lug

That is a great idea thanks
I replaced the trigger and the stator and am waiting to do the timing and start the motor up. Will update as soon as it's done.

Hi guys so one of the carbs, top one, had a mishap and a tab that holds the pin from the float broke off.
So I bought what I thought was tye same carb. It was listed as F589061-1 TC106A TC-107A Force 1989-1994 Carb 120 125HP.
But this thing doesn't have the same thing on top. The adjustment screw is long and goes through where the air jet 8s on tye other one. I completely did not notice the difference in tye pics. It is for Force engines.
Any idea if I can use it. I have the bottom one also same thing.

If the carb intake diameter is the same and the main jet has the same size it should fit.
You have to check that the throttle rod and the choke rod lines up with the other carb.
The new carb is from a earlier Force as the air fuel mixture screw is not siting in an angle but the function is the same of it.

I was hoping that it'd work. The inlet needle looks shorter too. and it's all shiny metal no rubber. I hope the adjustment is the same for the air mixture screw.

In addition of Nordin's answer
You can verify the # stamped on throat
Depending on the model year of the 120HP
CARBURETOR (90A,92C) calls for a
1300-F589061-3 1 CARBURETOR (TOP - TC-106A

CARBURETOR (0E009500 - 0E093699) calls for a
1300-820203 1 CARBURETOR (TOP) (TC-119A)
I can't read all the # on the two cabs in the picture and what carb was purchased?

I would repair the broken post on your original carburetor.
This is cast aluminum, how would you safely do that? Is there a way to enforce the broken braket so I can add a pin too?
And withstand gas.

Mine is the first category. 90B
The new older ones have the F589061 but don't know if the rest of the numbers are there. Tc106A I did not see for sure.
Will check and show close up pics in the morning.

Hey racerone how would you repair the broke tab?
Take it to a welding shop? Or try using a rod and a Bernzomatic?

Many carburetor have a U-SHAPED bracket installed for the pin.-----An example of that is found on a 1967 model 9.5 HP Johnson / Evinrude.----That part is listed as NLA but easy to make / install in my opinion !

Here are the pics of the 4 carbs side by side. Left is my broken one.
The numbers show 589061-1 on the 2 I bought and on mine 589061-3.
Plus mine has tye TC-106A-994 also stamped. The other2 just have 086 or 104 stampe.
Outside identical except for tye aforementioned changes, of tye air jet and adjustment screw.

I'm confused, in none of the pictures are there 4 carb in a row!??
The one picture with three in a row shows a bottom carb (center one)
I thought we're trying to match top carbs only?!?
How many carburetors did you buy? 1 OR 2 ?

ok, I am getting over the flu here so brain fart, since the middle carb had no nozzle for the gas hose I confused it with a top carb, omitting the choke fitting entirely. Sorry about that so I guess I have 1 top and 2 bottom that I got newer. in the pics of the 3 it is like you said thanks for pointing it out.
