1990 evinrude 110 HP qustions

hello fellow boaters. i recently acquired a 17 ft nitro bass/ski with a 110 HP evinrude OB is this possible from what im reading it only shows these up to 1989? how do i tell and my buddy says its not running like it should. looking to find the timing specs or tune up specs. also has a jack plate and seems that the motor sitting way to low. how do you know the placement of the motor on these? thanks for any info.

Lets start with the model number... There is a sticker on the transom bracket that will provide this info.
Once you know the model number you will also know the year, you then need to refer to the O.E. manual for the adjustments that you mentioned, there is a section called "Engine syncronization" that provides a step by step procedure.
As for the motor height, as a starting point you want the cavitation plate even with (or an inch lower than) the keel of the boat. If you have a jack plate, this is easilly adjustable.

An original factory service manual is really handy. You can get one for your engine from Ken Cook Co., in Milwaukee or outboardbooks.com.
