More pics of led lights. You can see in the last pic here, where the new fire extinguisers are mounted on either side and I also replaced the dull fuel tank inspection plate with a new bright white one. Like it!

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

Ok, so I love the led lighting. It adds so much to the boat, so I couldn't t stop there. The overhead box is now lit up and I made a custom panel for the front of the electronics box. Made it out of starboard and routed the chris craft logo out of it. Then mounted some lexan glass behind it. I then back lit the panel with the leds. I think it came out great and personalized the boat for me. This was not easy to do, very time consuming and tedious! I printed the logo out on the computer, then tranfered it to the peice of starboard. I then used a zip router to get the bulk of the lettering out. Because the old logo is script, it took alot of filing to get it to look good. alot of small corners that a router just couldn't get to. Lot of work, but worth every second imo. Haven't seen this done on any boat. makes me wonder if I could do the same thing on the stern for the boat name. I better stop thinking, lol

I'm really digging the logo on the front of the electronics box. Definately something you don't see everyday. :) Thats all for now folks!:):)

Very impressive work throughout, I really like that boat style. The walk-around hulls are very versatile.:)

Thanks man, she is getting there. We are still getting the motor worked out, but thats another story. Hope to be in the wate by next weekend. I love the walkaround, mainly for the protection from the weather.

Couple other misc. things I did was installed another thru hull up front to match the one that was already there for drainage of anchor locker. It really is just because I like things semetrical. Also installed seperate macerator pumps for the livewells. These were all tied into one before. That caused issues when one would empty, then the other wouldn't drain. Also replaced all the remaining thru hulls with stainless steel thru hull fittings. I added one for the extra macerator and 1 for a future back-up bilge pump. Cleaned up the hull logos also, I will be replacing these eventually with new ones.

A walk-around is still my favorite layout. Enjoy it.

Thanks man, I have had alot of fun upgrading her and making her mine. This boat really feels more like a 35 footer on the water. Getting another new motor installed as we speak. The other one had issues, warranty thank god. If I can get that good to go, the boat will pretty much be done.

That's a slick setup. You can run those leds day and night which is so cool.

I switched some basement GU10 halogens over to leds...much better than yelling at the kids to turn the lights off :)

Dear friends I have also one ChrisCraft Sea Hawk 25,4 with 5,7 OMC Cobra in Dubrovnik, Croatia. I am happy with my Macheta.
Regards Dubravko Moravec

I purhased this boat about two years ago. The boat was solid but had some mechanical issues. We are still working on getting the mechanicals straightened out. But in the mean time, I have been very busy upgrading different things and making the boat better in general. I am very pleased with the way this boat is set up for access to everything. Just thought I would share what I have done, for those that consider buying an older Chris Craft Seahawk. I do not have all before pics but most. I wanted to share because I think everyone thinks buying an old boat means you are going to be rebuilding everything from the stringers up. If the boat is well taken care of, it can last forever imo. Hope everyone enjoys the pics and the thread. I will be posting alot of pics of before and after as I went through this boat. Most things are cosmetic, but I do get into adding new things, cleaning up wiring, refurbing teak, etc, etc, etc

Boat when I purchased it. Had 2006 Venture roller trailer, and a Rebuilt pcm motor with 10 hours on it supposedly. I paid under $5000.00 for the package. Boat measures about 26 ft without bow pulpit and my new swim platform. I definately think I got a deal. Has a hardtop also. Bonus!

Pics of the boat when purchased in 2009.

Thanks man, haven't finished with everything yet, but it was far enough along to enjoy her this season. Going to do some modifications to the interior this winter.Strip the bottom paint and do some fiberglass patching.
