1989 yamaha 130 hp, how do i know for sure its pumping oil into the gas without taking a chance on the water? been running it in the yard, but oil level in tank dont seem to move. ?????????
The 115/130 Yamaha motors are very reliable. When you start the engine cold, it'll put out a cloud of white smoke.
The oil injection system on your motor is completely mechanical. And it's a very trouble free system.
The electrical part of the system is just to pump the oil from the external oil tank into the small oil tank under the engine cover.
The small oil tank will drain down to maybe a 20% level, and the big tank will fill the small tank at one time. The pump doesn't really run very often.
Thank you, I have noticed the white smoke, so I will just keep an eye on oil level, but I feel more comfortable now. Just never had an injection system, so I was a bit skeptical.
