1989 Phantom 160 no spark

We’re first time boat owners. We bought this boat knowing it needed the ignition wired up and now it’s still not sparking. Any help
Or insight to it would be great. Thank you in advance.

He done that. It doesn’t have a spot to hook up the battery( he just told me )and he’s not sure where to hook it up at

You have something not wired correctly or the points were not set correctly.

Follow the schematic in the factory service manual. If you don't have a factory manual, you can get one here.
