1988 force 85hp no start.no spark

my 1988 force 85hp has no spark.looking at the manual there is a white wire that goes from the ignition switch to the moduals,but dosen't give a description of what its for... Is this wire 12 volt ignition feed?? to power up the moduals?<br />where does this system gets its power from?<br />can anybody help. this engine ran the day before wich is making me crazy. :confused:

looks like it goes to kill switch,did you check it with a meter for voltage?

does your motor have a kill switch near the console. Probably some kind of wrist strap you wear so when you fly out of the boat the motor will kill? If this is not plugged in you will not get spark. <br /><br />As fixin says I am pretty sure the white wire is designed to kill your motor when you turn the key off.

checked the kill switch that seems to be working fine. checked some resistance values with meter. got about 48-50ohms on the triger wires. (ok). on the stator wires got 740k ohms while still on the motor, is that ok? also noted that the number 1 ignition coil secondary side is open from ground to plug wire connector. could that stop this engine from starting ?
