There should be 2 wires coming out of the handle that connects to a couple of wires from the block, are they hooked up?

The stop function is in the powerpack. Try grounding the black/yellow lead FROM powerpack. If engine stops, stop button or leads are the culprits, if not, pp defect.

yes all the wiring is connected. i can see the wiring, and there is a plug? where the two wires come out from the handle, on its route to the pp.

darn, might be a pp issue.

Two leads from the handle. One should go to ground, the other into the PP plug. Push out the pin on the PP side of the plug and ground when engine is running. Be a bit careful, it carries around 250Volts!!
Remember to keep the rest of the leads and the plug connected.

Hummmm... Have you checked the kill switch for continuity yet? The problem could be as simple as a defective kill switch. Might be a pain in the butt but since the kill switch is located in the tiller arm, find the wires going to it un-hook or simply cut, then using a ohm meter, check for continuity while depressing the kill switch. This is a simple check and should be preformed while the suckers off or you might get a nasty shock. In my experince, its always the simplest things that go out first,... there's just so damn many of them. If this doesnt work, you COULD adjust the Throttle adjustment at the timing advance and see if that would work. I like my engines (tiller controled) to stop when I back completely off the throttle.
