1988 150 tilt/trim stopped

I have a 1988 150 hp evinrude, while boating the engine came into contact with a sand bar, the power trim stopped working. Nothing happens now, not even a noise. Any ideas?

The trim motor plugs into the wiring harness that goes to the trim relay box at the back of the engine, under the cowling. A two-wire motor. You could unplug the motor, the wire it directly to a charged-up battery and see if it works.

If the t/t mtr still doesn't work, give it a few taps with a small hammer. It may have a stuck brush.
