I am in the process of restoring a 1987 16' Winner bass boat. I have read the threads and haven't come across this question.

Evidently the hoses that run to my live wells have either come loose or are dry rotten and leaking. Is there a way to replace these hoses without pulling off the cap.

Thanks in advance for any information.

I think the first way I'd try is disconnecting both ends of the old hose, tape the end of your new hose to one end of the old hose and try to pull the old one out as the new one goes in.

Now if your old hose(s) are really broken in two, this won't work but if not... It's a great way to keep from having to dismantle anything!

Good luck!

DukesFin:

Thanks for the information. Problem is, I can't get the live wells out to determine where the hoses hook up to the live wells. They seem to be anchored underneath the cap.

Ouch... If you can't get to both ends of the hose to replace it, you just can't!

Sounds like the only way is to cut it out, fix it then re-install it!

Sorry! Maybe others will chime in with their thoughts!
