2 years ago I bough an '87 ssv197 I have used it the last to summers really wanting to make sure it ran good before starting to put money into it. I need to fix the bilge pump (not working) So I am thinking it's time to take out the seats and the subfloor and taking to the stringers. replacing sub floor with new marine grade plywood and new carpeting (or another option) and doing new seat boxes and seats. Am I crazy taking it down to the stringers? remounting new marine plywood with stainless screws etc...?

Be sure the boat needs gutting. Probably does, but be sure.
For the most part the sub floor is in really good shape. Around the ski lockers in the middle of the boat has some issues but that is all. I could probably cut and and replaces just those areas, but I need to figure out where the bilge pump is and I am going to put in new seats. The ones in it are pretty bad.
