1987 mercury 6hp 2 stroke

i got this engine with a boat that didnt have a cowling ive read that and cowling from 6hp to 15 hp will work but some look a little different from others these are two that say there 1987 but they look so different

Based from pictures, looks like there both the same top cowl. The 9.9 is shown attached to the bottom pan hence they appear different. The 8 hp looks much nicer, that 9.9 crack is nasty
